The ADI app for lesson planning, pupil progress, and test-ready teaching
DriveAssist helps UK driving instructors plan lessons, track real DVSA progress, keep pupils moving toward test — and keep the business side in one place.
Built for ADIs and PDIs
Everything you need between the diary and the test centre
DriveAssist is a mobile-first instructor app — not a marketplace. Plan driving lessons, track DVSA syllabus progress, share a pupil portal, run mocks, and keep the business side in one place.
Plan and teach
Lesson plans from the syllabus, in-lesson ticking, debrief, and next-lesson focus. Repeat a slot weekly for 4, 8 or 12 weeks; clashes are skipped.
See the road to test
Hours, syllabus progress, DVSA pace, mocks, and test dates in one pupil journey. Pace is about 45 hours’ tuition and 22 hours’ private practice.
Share progress with pupils
Invite the learner — or a parent — to a portal: next lesson, history, summaries, and badges. You stay in control of the diary.
Run the business
Income from completed lessons, expenses, standing costs, tax reserve, reports and export, plus franchise invoice weeks. AA typical is Thursday–Wednesday, with Wednesday included through midnight. Record-keeping only — not tax advice.
Part 3 Coach
For PDIs: competencies, practice scenarios, self-assessment, quizzes, and post-lesson reflection — a full coaching loop, not just a PDF.
Now in DriveAssist
Shaped for how instructors actually work
Pupil and parent portal, map-followed test routes, franchise invoice weeks, offline debrief, and a this-month view of profit and tax reserve.
Plan lessons
Home shows today’s lessons, call and navigate, upcoming tests, and pupils with no next lesson. Today, week and month Planner tallies fees, with clash warnings when a slot overlaps. Plans include topics, briefing, risk share, routes, duration and fee. Start the in-lesson sheet, tick points, and complete.
Debrief, confidence scores, and summaries
On complete: support, competence, confidence, reflection, and next-lesson focus. Save a debrief on the phone when you’re offline, then sync when you’re back. Email a pupil-friendly lesson summary — that needs the pupil’s email on file.
Pupil and parent portal
Send an invite. The pupil or parent signs in with a magic link. Tabs: Home, Lessons, Progress, Profile. They see the next lesson and upcoming schedule, lesson history and recaps, hours and syllabus snapshot, skill badges from Getting Started to Test Ready, and the learner questionnaire. A parent or guardian can view when invited that way. Pupils cannot book their own lessons.
Mock tests and test routes
Mock test sheets and fault logging, plus a printable A4 sheet for the car. Upload test routes as PDF, GPX, KML, KMZ or an image; follow on the map with a GPS dot; hand off to sat-nav (OsmAnd) or open Google Maps directions.
Business, reference, and access
This-month snapshot on Home: income, expenses, estimated profit, and suggested tax reserve. One-off and standing costs, weekly or monthly, custom invoice weeks, reports and export. In More: DVSA syllabus, teaching routines (POM, MSM, MSPSL and more), Show Me / Tell Me, and the PDI Part 3 mark scheme. Open signup with a 30-day Stripe trial; owners can invite instructors to a short no-card trial. Install as a phone app (PWA).
